Matt is a highly experienced professional recruiter with an impressive career spanning over 18 years. He has worked both inhouse and within agencies, honing his skills and expertise in the recruitment industry.

He founded Marshall Bayley in response to the evolving needs of the insurance industry with the vision to fill a crucial gap in the recruitment market. Recognizing the challenges and unique requirements of insurance companies in finding highly skilled professionals, Marshall Bayley emerged as a specialized recruitment agency dedicated to serving the insurance sector.

Prior to joining Marshall Bayley, Matt was a Principal Consultant at Streamline, a specialist financial services recruitment agency. Matt was responsible for establishing a US business focusing on financial services including insurance carriers, reinsurance, health care and management consulting. He has worked closely with clients to deliver exceptional results.       

Matt has extensive senior inhouse recruitment experience having managed a number of high-profile recruitment and future leader activities at BT Group. He has also managed financial services recruitment for Barclays and CGI.  

Matt’s career began in IT consultancy at CGI, where he specialized in delivering business analysis and networking solutions. During this time, he focused on the Technology, Media, and Telecommunications (TMT) sector, as well as the Financial Services (Insurance) industry. Throughout his recruitment career, Matt has utilized his industry experience to gain a better understanding of client requirements and securing top talent for their organizations.    

Throughout his career, he has had an international remit, including significant involvement in US recruitment activities. He has worked with and sourced talent from the world’s leading business schools including Harvard, MIT, Stanford, Chicago Booth, and Duke Fuqua.

Matt holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Information Systems from Lincoln University in the UK. He splits his time between the US and the UK, with a primary focus on US hiring initiatives.

Outside of his professional career, Matt is an avid golfer (current handicap of 10) and is trying to get this down to single figures! He also enjoys road cycling and travel. He appreciates fine wines and enjoys discovering new varieties.
