We are currently engaged by an industry leading insurance provider who are seeking Commercial Lines Property Underwriters with Excess & Surplus experience. You will be responsible for building and underwriting a book of new and renewal primary commercial property business. Opportunities for hybrid/remote roles across the United States.

Responsibilities:
- Building and underwriting a book of new and renewal primary commercial property business to determine eligibility in accordance with underwriting guidelines and target metrics
- Analyze, evaluate, accept, decline, rate, quote and bind new and renewal property E&S business according to underwriting authority
- Review mid-term endorsement requests and loss control reports
- Meet production and marketing goals while maintaining underwriting integrity and overall profitability
- Obtain approval from the appropriate referral source on submissions falling outside of granted authority
- Develop and maintain professional relationships with appointed wholesale trading partner firms and brokers to generate a strong flow of quality new business opportunities, as well as manage the overall quality of the book of business
- Exhibit thorough working knowledge of sound underwriting principles, policies, procedures, and controls
- Keep current on issues affecting the property line of business, as well as competitors and the overall marketplace
- Provide a high level of customer service via timely responses to wholesale broker requests
- Create, drive and execute on strategies for new and/or renewal accounts
What we’re looking for:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 3+ years of commercial property underwriting experience, E&S experience is desired
- ASLI, CPCU, ARM or other relevant professional designation preferred
- Excellent organizational and desk management skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Must be positive, self-motivated, and possess strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Possess strong technical, analytical and quantitative skills
- Solution-oriented team player with a strong relationship management skill set working with both internal and external stakeholders and customers
- Must be able to multi-task and prioritize multiple competing demands
- Willingness to travel
